Today King’s Island announced several additions and improvements for the 2023 season near Adventure Express, including two new flat rides:
Sol Spin
This looks to be a Zamperla Endeavour model. These have been replacing the old Enterprise rides in recent years. Kentucky Kingdom added one of these a few years ago and it’s a fun family ride. This one will likely have a 48″ height requirement. This ride comes in both one-across and two-across seating. It’s hard to tell from the concept art which model this will be.
Cargo Loco
A spinning ride in the form of shipping barrels. Hopefully this one has a 36″ height requirement. This looks like it will be a great family ride.
In addition to the two new flat rides, two restaurants in the area will get a re-theme. King’s Island also alluded to some theming updates to Adventure Express. We’ll have to wait and see what that one means. As someone who loves Adventure Express, I’m excited to see what they come up with.
All in all, I think this is a good announcement for the park. Couple that with some additional infrastructure improvements and continued paint jobs and I think this will be a solid offseason for the park.
